Where are the One Piece statues?
On Japan’s island of Kyushu, mugiwaras like you can find 10 statues of the Thousand Sunny’s crew. They’re in areas in the city of Kumamoto and throughout the towns and countryside of Kumamoto Prefecture.
Here’s a snapshot of the general areas where each statue is:
- Kumamoto City: Luffy and Chopper
- Southwest of Kumamoto City: Jinbe
- East of Kumamoto: Zoro, Nami, Usopp, Sanji, Robin, Franky, and Brook are scattered among villages east of Kumamoto

Why are there One Piece statues in Kumamoto?
If you’re a fan of the anime and manga One Piece, you might know that the creator, Eiichiro Oda, is from Kumamoto.
After the area had a damaging earthquake in 2016, Oda donated a total of ¥800 million, or about US$8 million, to aid with relief and rebuilding for the prefecture where he grew up.
Fun fact: Oda did this with 2 donations. The first was for ¥500 million. Oda donated it in Luffy’s name, to go with what, at the time, was a 500 million berry bounty on our fave Straw Hat’s head.
That’s why, in honor of Oda and One Piece, throughout Kumamoto Prefecture you can now find statues of all 10 main crew members.

- Roronoa Zoro
- Nami
- Vinsmoke Sanji
- Usopp
- Tony Tony Chopper
