Oregon hikes with kids: Family friendly trails in Lane County’s Eugene, Cascades, and Coast wonderland

Spring! Summer! Even fall: When it comes to Oregon hikes with kids, Lane County has incredible family hikes, all within easy reach of Eugene, Springfield, and even the Oregon Coast.

Lane County is about the size of Connecticut. While Eugene and Springfield are the main urban areas, smaller towns and cities such as Florence, Cottage Grove, and Oakridge make great jumping off points for family friendly adventures on the beach, through the forests, and in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains.

We worked with the folks at Eugene, Cascades & Coast to put together a list of 6 awesome hikes with kids. From the coast’s Waxmyrtle Trail to an old-growth forest hike in the Cascade foothills that commemorates the signers of the US Constitution, we learned so much about all the brilliant hikes we have in our own backyard.

As you put together your outdoor family adventure plans, definitely put these hikes on the list!
